WE MUST KEEP ROBIN

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has said that the club should be focusing on keeping star striker Robin van Persie at the club next season in order to be title contenders. It has been seven seasons since Arsenal last lift the trophy, while their last Premier league title came back in 2004. As a result, there has been many suggestions that top players do not want to play for Arsenal, where the wages are not competitive when compared with the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City. Despite this, every season there is renewed hope at Arsenal that they will finally lift the Premier league title, according to Arsenal news.

Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey has said that it would be almost impossible for Arsenal to lift the Premier league title next season if they decide to sell Robin van Persie, who is entering into the final year of his contract. There has been no suggestion from the Dutchman that he is ready to commit to Arsenal. Even after many seasons with the London club, Robin van Persie is yet to win a major title. Cesc Fabregas left the club last summer and has already lifted four trophies with Barcelona this season.

“It’s important we keep Robin if we seriously want to be title contenders. He has proven this season what his value is to the team with the goals he has scored. It’s important to keep those sort of players at the club. He was our top goalscorer, won the Golden Boot and the Player of the Year awards, so any team would want to keep him. Arsenal are no different. He hasn’t given any of the other lads any indications on what he is going to do. Nothing has been said. But, hopefully, he will stay,” said Aaron Ramsey, who has started most of the matches in the absence of Fabregas.
