Theo Walcott says that Arsenal will be able to build on the recent successes

FA Cup 2015 final goalscorer Theo Walcott says that Arsenal will be able to build on the recent successes in this competition and it would propel them towards Premier League success.

The gunners have long been waiting to end the trophy drought in terms of the league title. The club only recently managed to end the long-standing drought for any trophy. The back-to-back FA Cup successes mean that Arsenal can now look forward to lifting more important titles like the Premier League or even the Champions League. The gunners will have to go a long way before being considered as potential Champions League winners, but Walcott is targeting the league for the moment.

The 26-year-old recently committed his future to Arsenal by extending his contract. Manager Arsene Wenger has always maintained that Walcott would extend his spell with Arsenal and his prediction appears to have come true. Walcott may have grown up as a winger at Arsenal, but he has always maintained his desire to play as the striker. Wenger granted this wish in one of the biggest games of the campaign last season – against Aston Villa in the FA Cup final. Walcott did not disappoint after scoring one of the goals in the 4-0 success. However, it remains to be seen if he will start the league campaign as the forward.

"Solidarity is the sign of a successful team. When players stay and stick together you see the success come out. You look at the old Manchester United and Arsenal sides and they were teams who stayed together. They just built on success after every year. I've always enjoyed playing for this club, I love this club. I've been here nearly 10 years now and it's my second home. The manager has been fantastic to me,” said the England international.
