Ferguson Criticized By Saha

Sir Alex Ferguson has been criticized by Louis Saha for letting Paul Pogba go to Juventus before the start of the 2011-12 Season.

Pogba, the French midfielder, has proved to be a great asset for Juventus in the last couple of seasons. He has struck 12 times in 63 league appearances for the Italian club.

Pogba had not been getting starting opportunities on a regular basis at Old Trafford and that’s why, he opted for an away move in 2012. Despite him being so young and so talented, Sir Alex didn’t make any attempt to make him stay.

That, according to Saha, was a wrong step by the legendary manager. Talking to a reporter yesterday, the former French player said, “I don’t generally use strong words of criticism for Sir Alex, but, it was certainly a mistake by him.”
“Paul was young with high amount of potential and had confidence too. So, he should not have been let go.”

“People have seen in this World Cup how dangerous he can be as a player. His performance against Nigeria proved that he would be one of the superstars of this generation.”

A lot of people would agree to what Saha has said. Since the departure of Pogba, United has struggled a lot in the playmaking department.

Weak midfield was one of the main reasons why the Red Devils couldn’t compete against the other top teams in the previous Premier League.

Pogba, who is growing very fast as a midfielder, might have made a difference if he had been there at Old Trafford last summer.

But, then, he is not the only player to have become a superstar after being sold by United. There are quite a few others as well who have flourished after leaving Old Trafford.
