Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey on the radar of Inter Milan

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been deemed to have reached a verbal agreement to join Inter Milan when the current season comes to a close. The Wales international has just seven months remaining on his existing deal with the Gunners and a probable renewal seems highly unlikely with the negotiations reaching a complete breakdown earlier in the campaign.

According to La Repubblica, the Nerazzurri are understood to have agreed personal terms with the former Cardiff City graduate which would witness him join the club at the end of the season. However, it is added that manager Luciano Spalletti would prefer working with the midfielder as early as the winter transfer window and this may tempt the Nerazzurri to agree on a cut-price deal with the Gunners at the turn of the year.

Ramsey has largely been in and out of the Gunners lineup during the course of the ongoing campaign but he has nonetheless been effective with two goals and six assists across all competitions. Despite this, the club’s hierarchy have shown no ambition to restart contract talks with the Welshman and it appears for certain that he may leave between January and the end of the campaign.

Meanwhile, “the future of Mesut Ozil has also come under discussion over the past few weeks amid his reduced gametime since the last international break“. Still, the Spanish tactician has given no indication that the German could leave the Emirates and the midfielder “answered his critics over“ the weekend with a top performance against Burnley where he grabbed an assist.

Arsenal are currently on 37 points after 18 matches into the Premier League campaign and this sees them only goal difference behind fourth-placed Chelsea, who suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester City at Stamford Bridge. Next up, they are scheduled to travel to the South Coast to face Brighton & Hove Albion on Boxing Day.
