Aaron Ramsey is to be named the captain of Wales. The former Arsenal star has long been considered a leader in the Welsh national team and is poised to lead his country to the biggest stage at Euro. He has already made a name for himself by leading his club side to two FA Cup titles, but now he will be taking on a whole new role with the national team. Ramsey’s career has been quite impressive so far, as he has scored 56 goals in 160 matches for Arsenal and Wales combined.
He is also known for his leadership skills and strong presence on the pitch which makes him an ideal candidate for this new position. As a result, the star has been called up to the senior squad for the first time by the coach this month, who has now named him as skipper for their upcoming friendly against Denmark. Ramsey will lead out his country for the first time, having previously captained Arsenal’s Under-21s and Wales’ U20s sides.
