RAMSEY PROUD JUVE QUALIFIED FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey has expressed his delight about the club sealing their qualification for the UEFA Champions League group stages for next season even though they had to wait until the last day of the just-concluded campaign to confirm their qualification. In what was a strange season for the Old Lady outfit, they almost missed out on playing in the elite European competition next season and were close to only qualifying for a Europa League spot.

On the last day of the Italian Serie A season, they needed to win their last game and also needed a win from Atalanta against AC Milan, as well as Napoli dropping points for them to scale through. However, Milan defeated Atalanta but Napoli could not win their last game of the season, drawing 1-1 against Verona at home to only make it to the Europa League group stages for next season yet again.

Cristiano Ronaldo sat out Juve’s last fixture of the season but they were able to secure a 4-1 win away from home – an emphatic result that they needed to wrap up the season with as it also ensured that they will be playing under the floodlights of their Turin stadium in the UEFA Champions League in the 2021-22 season starting later this year.

Speaking after the confirmation of the league’s final day results, Ramsey said he knew that the group had what it took to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and that all they needed to do was to believe in themselves. He admitted that they were only able to make it through to the group stages of the competition next season because Napoli dropped points, but reiterated that it’s one of those things that happen in football and they just need to accept it that way.

RAMSEY: JUVE WILL FIGHT TILL THE END

Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey has insisted that he and his teammates will stop at nothing until they ensure that they have done everything within their capacity to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season. Ramsey was speaking in an interview with the club’s official website where he made the remarks and also said that he knows they have not performed according to expectations this season but they will not stop until they achieve this season’s objective.

Juve’s League rivals Inter Milan have already secured the Italian Serie A title and all they have to do now is to ensure that they achieve the next objective on their list, which is to secure qualification for Europe’s elite competition next season. The Turin outfit have not been very impressive this season and have lost a couple of games that they were well placed to win and it could cost them a top-four finish at the end of the current campaign.

Their players have come under huge criticism all season for failing to put up top-notch performances
that could have been pivotal in them easily finishing the season among the top three teams in the league standings even after missing out on the title. Their star man, Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, has been almost the only shining light in the team due to the number of goals he has scored for the club this term.

Ronaldo’s contributions to the team has been clear and many believe that Juve could have easily had a far better finish to the season if they had another elite and proven goalscorer to partner the Portugal international captain in the Old Lady’s attack.

However, Ramsey says that the season is not over yet and anything can happen until the league is finally wrapped up.

RAMSEY PLAYS DOWN JUVE EXIT RUMORS

Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey has poured cold water on the reports linking him with an exit from the club, insisting that he has his head and heart set at the Old Lady and does not see himself leaving the club anytime soon. Ramsey has been linked with an exit from Juve since the tail-end of last season after falling out of favor with manager Andrea Pirlo who has been sparingly using the midfielder even when he is fully fit.

Reports from Italy began making the rounds two weeks ago that the Wales international midfielder could be seeking a move away so he can go to a club where he will be playing more games ahead of the Euros coming up later this year. Ramsey reportedly only wants to play more football matches because he does not want to lose his spot in the Wales national team and would like to help his country go as far as they can in the competition when it kicks off later this year.

But despite being linked to the likes of Napoli, Atletico Madrid, a return to Arsenal, and also a move to the United States Major League Soccer, the midfield star has said that he has no intention of leaving Italy for now and would like to remain a Juventus player.

Speaking on the rumor, Ramsey said he is a Juventus player for now and would like it to continue that way. He said he knows there are a lot of speculations about his future and its normal because he’s not playing enough games currently, but also stressed that it’s not within his power to select who plays games and who does not, citing that only the manager has that kind of selection power and he has no issues with it.

However, he did admit that just like any other player he would like to play more games and try to help the team the best way he can.
