The 30-year-old currently has less than 15 months remaining on his contract with the Gunners and he has been touted to head through the club’s exit door during the summer unless he puts pen-to-paper on a fresh deal.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson said that the Gunners must find a quick solution to Aubameyang’s contract and based on that, they can adjust their summer transfer plans. Otherwise, he believes the club should part ways with the marksman rather than keeping hold of him next season like Aaron Ramsey, who left on a free transfer last summer.
