The versatile midfielder has managed 30 league appearances in just one of the last four seasons, and this has been a concern for the club, who have dropped points during his absence.

Ramsey had struggled to display his best form during the early stages of the previous campaign, again affected by a hamstring niggle, but he managed to establish himself in the final part of the season following the shift to the 3-4-2-1 formation. Under the setup, the Welshman has been offered a free role from the heart of the midfield, and his runs into the box have made him a menace for opposition defenders as Chelsea found out in the FA Cup final.

Speaking during Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Australia, Ramsey admitted that he does not have any goals for the upcoming campaign, but he hopes to enjoy a full season without getting injured, he said: “I haven’t set any goals but with this new formation a long season, hopefully, an injury-free season.

I know what I am capable of doing. If I can stay fit then hopefully it will take care of itself, but no targets, no.I have to perform to the best of my ability to be in this team and that’s what I do – I give everything every time I’m in the team or going out to train.”

Ramsey formed an impressive partnership alongside Granit Xhaka in the centre of the park, and the pair are likely to continue their association as they head into the new season in August. While the Community Shield does not hold much importance, Arsenal will still seek to get another win over Chelsea as it would be the perfect morale boost ahead of their Premier League opener against Leicester.

Ramsey has consistently been included in the first team of Arsene Wenger with over 20 appearances in almost every single season and the Welshman was even named as Arsenal´s Player of the Season of 2013-14.

These are just a few of the more noteworthy things that Aaron Ramsey has achieved during his time spent at the Emirates Stadium as well as his contributions to Arsenal for a player who only cost £4.8 million.

In 8 seasons spent wearing the Arsenal jersey, the pieces of silverware that Aaron Ramsey has won is: The FA Community Shield and the FA Cup. However, the Welshman wants to do bigger things and win more trophies as the 26 year old recently said:

“It means a lot for us to win silverware and having something to show for your hard work. Hopefully there will be some more next season. I love the competition and to score ¬another FA cup winner was a great feeling, it’s ¬living out your ¬childhood dreams. It was a great feeling to win the FA Cup again. I’m always trying to improve as a player and will continue to try to do that.”

The 26 year old Welshman also continued on saying that he wants to help his national side in qualifying for the upcoming FIFA World Cup which is something that Wales has not been able to do since 1958.
