Wales were never even expected to qualify for the competition, but they managed to do exceedingly well under the regime of Chris Coleman. Even though the former Fulham manager started out in the worst possible fashion by losing his first four matches, he has managed to take the national team through a tough period and come out positive. Wales were never even expected to qualify for the competition, but they managed to do exceedingly well under the regime of Chris Coleman. Even though the former Fulham manager started out in the worst possible fashion by losing his first four matches, he has managed to take the national team through a tough period and come out positive. Ramsey has been one of the success stories for the national team, as he has been able to successfully fulfil his talent with club and national team.

Ramsey may not be at his best in the last 24 months, but the talent at his disposal was clear for everyone to witness during the 2013-14 season. He scored a whopping 16 goals in all competitions, which is his best career return so far in one campaign. He was an instrumental factor in Wales reaching the final of the competition where they lost to Portugal, who were also unlikely candidates for this stage of the competition. Ramsey now claims that he is hoping to achieve a similar run with Arsenal when the new Premier League season kicks off this weekend.

Arsenal are up against Liverpool in the opening weekend. “It was an amazing time for me personally and also Welsh football. It was an amazing achievement by the boys and now hopefully I can carry my form into the new season. It felt good to come in and play the last game before the start of the season. It’s good fitness for us and I felt good to get back out there again. I feel ready to go for Liverpool. [The Manchester City game] was preparation and a step in the right direction too,” said Ramsey.

Ramsey not ready for start of the season

Aaron Ramsey has stated that he might not be ready for the start of the season.

Indeed, he has been participating with Wales at the Euros in France and with his national team having an extended run in the competition; the midfielder will require plenty of time to relax.

Arsene Wenger has a habit of giving his players 4 weeks of rest after a major tournament and at this pace; Ramsey will only have 2 weeks of training before the start of the season. He believes that he will lack match fitness to participate in the first game against Liverpool.

Ramsey said that his manager likes to give players after a major tournament as it was with the German after the World Cup in 2014. He remembers that the German players return that season only a few days before the start of the Premier League. He said that Arsene Wenger did not allow them to play in the first game back then, and he believes that it will be a similar story with him.

He said that he was satisfied with his performance at the Euros in France. It was his personal objective to go at the tournament and have a stand-out performance for Wales especially after having missed a big chunk of the domestic season. He added that he was pleased with the way his national team played and hoped that they would keep doing that on a regular basis.

He has big ambitions for next season and believes that he can bring his Wales form to the Premier League. For him Arsenal has a big chance next season to win the title and that they need to believe in themselves if they want to achieve something big. At the moment he wants to have some rest in order to replenish himself.
