Aaron Ramsey is one of the latest players of the English club that has been hit with an injury blow as the 25 year old Welshman sustained a thigh strain during Arsenal’s FA Cup match against Hull City and this injury has kept Ramsey out of action for the past few games of Arsenal as they faced off with: Watford, Barcelona and Everton.

This thigh strain that Ramsey suffered will be a big blow for the Welshman as he has not only missed out from crucial games of Arsenal but the 25 year old player is also going to be unable to perform in the approaching friendly matches of Wales as the Welsh national football team has to play against Northern Ireland and Ukraine, Ramsey will not be able to play in any of these games.

When Arsene Wenger was asked about the physical condition of Aaron Ramsey, the French manager said: “His signs are quite positive at the start I would say four weeks.”

It seems like injuries is something that has always affected Arsenal and their chances of lifting major pieces of silverware and besides Aaron Ramsey, the other players of the Premier League club that have been picking up injuries in recent times have been: Petr Cech, Mikel Arteta, Per Mertesacker and Rosicky. The news has prompted the transferrumours websote to go into overdrive with suggestions as to who Arsenal should sign!

Ramsey is expected to be fully recovered and should be back in time for the opening matches of Wales for the UEFA 2016’s Euro’s as the Welsh national team has to play against Slovakia on June 11.

PRESSURE TURNS FANS ANGRY

The Gunners have got the most loyal and the most patient of the supporters. Even through that long period during which they were totally deprived of the titles, rarely was there any negativity coming from the supporters.

But, recently, the supporters have lost their cool and that’s totally justifiable as Arsenal, after having a good start to the League and getting themselves on track for the title, have lost their way again and has got themselves at a point where apart from playing well themselves, they now need Leicester City, the table leaders, to play badly from here on in to have things turned around for them.

So, that’s what has made the supporters go a little angry and that, according to Wenger, is not something he prefers.
Wenger, who was interacting with the press after Arsenal’s 2-2 draw in the home game against the Spurs, said, “I want happiness among the supporters, but, that’s not the case at the moment and its worrying me a little bit to be honest as it’s not going to do any good to the confidence of the team.”

“From the supporters’ point of view though, you can definitely understand why they are angry. They had expectations which obviously we couldn’t stand up to, but, we need their backing.”

Whilst Arsenal don’t quite have horse racing odds to win the league, their chances of doing so fall with every dismal draw and awful defeat, so it is no wonder that fans feel aggrieved at letting one of their best chances slip through their fingers.

“However, I think our response has been brilliant. With all the criticism and pressure, our confidence was not at the maximum going into this game. So, considering that, I don’t think it’s a result which we should be disappointed with.”

Arsenal’s slide down the table continued after a 0-0 draw

Arsenal’s slide down the table continued after a 0-0 draw against Southampton at home.

This was the third consecutive league match in which the club has failed to score a goal. Manager Arsene Wenger said that he was disappointed with the poor finishing that led his team down. It was not long ago that Arsenal looked favourites for the league title.

However, failure to win any league match in the last four means that they have fallen five points behind table leaders Leicester City. Following the latest round of league matches, Manchester City and Tottenham have overtaken Arsenal.
The gunners were back in the fourth spot and are now in danger of being overtaken by Manchester United, who are just five points behind. Arsenal’s reliance on only a few players to come up with the goals has been seen as the decisive factor. Going back a few years, Aaron Ramsey was an important player for the club in terms of scoring goals. However, Wenger has diminished this importance by playing the Wales midfielder in a defensive midfield position. As expected, his contribution in terms of goals has gone down substantially. Ramsey has scored just five goals in 24 appearances this season. Not long ago, he was scoring in double figures.

“We produced quite a good performance in the second half and created 10 good chances. The performance we wanted was there but we can’t be happy with the way we finished our chances. That is what is disappointing. Some players missed chances they should take and our finishing is very bad at the moment. We started slowly but in the first half Özil had two good chances. The second half was one-way traffic but we still couldn’t score, we didn’t make enough of our set pieces,” said Wenger, who was looking to overcome the 1-0 loss against Chelsea in the previous league match.
