COMMONS: SIGNING RAMSEY COULD BE A MISTAKE

When Wales international midfielder Aaron Ramsey knew that his time at Juventus was coming to an end, the best decision was for him to try and look for a new club. While several clubs were interested in acquiring his services, he only accepted Rangers' proposal and signed for the Scottish Premiership title winners. However, that may not have been the best decision because there have now been some ill comments made about his transfer to the league title holders.

The Ibrox outfit brought the Welshman in from Juventus on loan during the January transfer window, but he has featured for only 94 minutes since the move. Ramsey has been plagued with injuries throughout his career and he quickly picked up a fresh one following his move to Glasgow. Commons is not denying Ramsey's talent, but he believes the signing could turn out to be a waste of time for both parties.

In the article he submitted to the Daily Mail, Commons said that it is now March already and Rangers fans are fully entitled to ask what the thinking behind the signing of Aaron Ramsey was all about. He continued that the stats so far show that he’s played just 94 minutes over four games of football. And 61 of those came against Annan Athletic.

He added that Ramsey was also an unused substitute against Aberdeen on Saturday. If a player of that talent is able to take his place on the bench, why wasn’t he involved? Commons said that he always felt signing Ramsey was a big move by Rangers but is not convinced that the player has lived up to expectations yet, citing that he needs to do more about trying to make a huge impact at the Ibrox stadium - the same reason why he was signed from Italian Serie A giants Juventus in the first place.
