Aaron Ramsey was one of the players who enjoyed a brilliant Euro 2016, as he progressed to the final of the competition.
Ramsey may not be at his best in the last 24 months, but the talent at his disposal was clear for everyone to witness during the 2013-14 season. He scored a whopping 16 goals in all competitions, which is his best career return so far in one campaign. He was an instrumental factor in Wales reaching the final of the competition where they lost to Portugal, who were also unlikely candidates for this stage of the competition. Ramsey now claims that he is hoping to achieve a similar run with Arsenal when the new Premier League season kicks off this weekend.
Arsenal are up against Liverpool in the opening weekend. “It was an amazing time for me personally and also Welsh football. It was an amazing achievement by the boys and now hopefully I can carry my form into the new season. It felt good to come in and play the last game before the start of the season. It’s good fitness for us and I felt good to get back out there again. I feel ready to go for Liverpool. [The Manchester City game] was preparation and a step in the right direction too,” said Ramsey.
